INTRODUCTION: This article describes the use of autoethnography to explore my experience as a bereaved parent in relation traumatic loss 12-year-old child 2009.METHODS: Employing an autoethnographic approach, this research articulates and investigates personal narratives associated with experiences death young child. Narratives offer rich description event allow data analysis where emerging themes stream from experience.FINDINGS: Professionals taking control caring role community are main identified analysed these narratives. The findings advocate for understanding needs grieving parents at time extreme confusion. concentrates on professional first responders guiding traumatised when their has fatal event. Bereaved disorientation confusion sudden Emergency need active listening skills guidance.IMPLICATIONS: Professional take parent’s early journey grief they likely be state deep shock, leaves them vulnerable lowered cognitive ability. sensitivity can direct parents, thereby assisting short- long-term welfare family by addressing initial crisis.
